Verna Irvin Coston, 81, passed away March 1, 2022 in Athens, Alabama. She was born March 19, 1940 in Denmark, Mississippi to Leslie Herring and Verna UV White Herring. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ, Ardmore, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Aubrey Coston; sisters, Ruby Jean Sanders, Linda Jewell Jackson, Celestine Brown and Mary Ellen Muncille; brothers, Charles Buford Herring and Bobby Carroll Herring. She is survived by daughters, Karen Lynn (Dean) Murray and Beverly Sue (Wesley) Davis; brothers, Jimmie Wayne Herring and Michael Anthony Herring; grandchildren, David Toone, Amanda (Robert) Jacoby, Randy (Sara) Toone, Joel (Brooke) Davis, Laura (Jeffery) Lowry and Kristen (Vince) Pierce; great grandchildren, Brooklynn Pierce, Ayden Lowry, Kinsley Murray, Annelise Jacoby, Emery Toone, Lawson Pierce and Parker Davis; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Toone, Randy Toone, Joel Davis, Ayden Lowry, Kristen Pierce and Robert Jacoby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amanda Jacoby and Laura Lowry. Visitation will be Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Randy Johnson and Bro. Brent Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama.
