Obituary for Vera Louise Lewter

Vera Louise Lewter, 84, of Ardmore, Tennessee, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center for Ardmore.Funeral Services were held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 18, 2004, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bottom officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were josh Clifton, Erik Clark, David Wallace, Eric Wallace, Danny Gee, and Eddie Lewter.Mrs. Lewter was born on October 18, 1919, in Toney, Alabama, to William Franklin Worley and Dolly Ann Riddle Worley. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lewter, and a son, David Lewter. Survivors include: one son, William Lewter of Athens, Alabama; six daughters, Nancy Elrod of Athens, Alabama, Pauline Brady of Elkmont, Alabama, Willamay Wilson of Harvest, Alabama, Faye Burns of Lynville, Tennessee, Annie Clifton of Athens, Alabama, and Freda Wallace of Elkmont, Alabama; one brother, Robert Worley of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters, Peggy Hagan of Kentucky, and Katherine Bolt of New Jersey; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
