Samuel M. Hodges, 69, of Mooresville Road, Elkmont, Alabama, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Edward Webster and Bro. John Moss officiating. Burial was in Ford's Chapel Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Wade Hodges, Steve Hodges, Tommy Clark, Bobby Hodges, Teddy Loveday, Jim Keown, David Camberen, and Craig Simmons.Mr. Hodges was born on November, 19, 1933, in Madison County, Alabama, to Borgie Hodges and Lucille Vanhoozer Hodges. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank E. Hodges. Survivors include his wife, Peggy A. Hodges; four sons, Jeffery Hodges of New Market, Alabama, Dwight Hodges of Huntsville, Alabama, Jim Keown of Madison, Alabama, and Warren Keown of Huntsville, Alabama; two daughters, Kathy Clark of Grant, Alabama and Brenda Sue Camberen of Hooks, Texas; two brothers, Alvie Hodges of Harvest, Alabama and B.V. Hodges of Elkmont, Alabama; one sister, Roberta Nabors of Harvest, Alabama; and 10 grandchildren.
