Rex Lamont Hubbard passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens, AL. He was born on November 16, 1947, to H.D. Hubbard and Rosie Shelton Hubbard Price. He lived in Ardmore all his life and was a member of New Day Bible Church. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He owned and operated Hubbard Industrial Maintenance since 1976 and his favorite past time was bracket racing on the weekends with his kids, Rex Jr. and Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather JW Price, along with a granddaughter, Hannah Victoria Hubbard. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Lewter Hubbard, one son, Rex (Kim) Hubbard Jr., brothers; Gene Hubbard and Don (Jan) Price, sister, Shelia (Buster) Stanford, grandson PFC Samuel Vanon Hubbard, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. There will be a Visitation on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, AL. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jeff Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery, located in Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be Dee Goodman, David Kaufer, Doyce Maddox, Tim Martin, David Posey, and Kayden Warman. PFC Samuel Vanon Hubbard will be an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts for Rex be made to the neonatal intensive care unit at Huntsville Hospital where his infant granddaughter, Hannah Victoria Hubbard, was cared for before she passed away in 2001.
