Obituary for Rex Danner Markham

Rex Danner Markham, 54 of Toney, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2013. Rex was raised in Detroit, Alabama and graduated from Sulligent High School where he received the honor of being Mr. SHS and President of his Senior class. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Enginnering. Upon graduation Rex began his career with Chrysler in Huntsville, Alabama. He was later transferred to Kokomo, Indiana, where he spend the past seven years continuing to work as Plant Engineer. Rex was a wonderful, Godly man who was committed to his family. He was a loving husband, a strong faithful father, a devoted son, and a friend to all he knew. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church he served as Deacon, RA leader, Sunday School teacher, and other leadership positions. Rex was a member of Wooley Springs Baptist Church where he served as Discipleship Training teacher, and participated in mission work such as World Changers and Nehemiah Ministries. While in Kokomo, Indiana, he taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and participated in other capacities at New Hope Church. We are confident that Rex heard the Father say, 'Well done, good and faithful servant.' Rex is survived by his wife, Carolyn Crump Markham; a daughter, Allison Carol Markham of Toney, Alabama; his mother, Pauline Danner Markham; sister, Phyllis Markham; brothers, Tim Markham of Detroit, Alabama, and Brooks (Rhonda) Markham; nephew, Nicholas Markham of McCalla, Alabama; and a host of family and friends.
