Obituary for Rev. A.D. Kellum

Rev. A.D. Kellum, 78, of Alabama Hwy. 251, Ardmore, AL, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at his residence. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at 12 noon at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Clem and Bro. James Oliver officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, AL, with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Daniel Bryant, Timmothy Moran, Russell Thornton, Devin Claunch, Matthew Butler, and Frankie Elders. Allen Dean Kellum was born July 31, 1926 in Giles County, TN, to Rufus Kellum and Mary Spears Kellum. He lived all of his life in this area and worked for the Auburn Experiment Station at Belle Mina in Limestone County. He served as an M.P. in the Army during WWII. He enjoyed visiting nursing homes where he sang and played the guitar. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kellum of Ardmore, AL; five sons, Steve Kellum of Athens, AL, Charles Claunch of Ardmore, AL, Phillip Claunch of Athens, AL, Donnie Claunch of Tacoma, WA, Glen Claunch of Macon, GA; six daughters, Pat Butler of Elkmont, AL, Elaine Beck of Scottsboro, AL, Barbara Kellum of Colorado, Yvonne Caldwell of Athens, AL, Fay Reyer of Hammond, IN, and Doris Bell of Elkton, TN; one brother, Sidney Kellum of Loretto, TN; one sister, Susie Mae Ivey of Grand Prairie, TX; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
