James Bernard McDonald Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Bernard McDonald, 87, of Ardmore, Alabama, died June 30, 2003, at his residence. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. William Suddarth officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Wayne Daly, Casey Jones, Robert Wallace, James "Luke" Fowler, Bennie Woodall, and Tommy Anderson. Tom Bowman was an honorary Pallbearer.Mr. McDonald was born on January 17, 1916, in Mossville, Mississippi, to James Stanford and Helen Barlow McDonald. He was a Veteran of World War II and a resident of Ardmore since 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Detiveauz McDonald. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to Hospice of Limestone County. Survivors include one son, Michael (Rita) McDonald of Ardmore, Tennessee; one daughter, Gale (Ray) Helums of Taft, Tennessee; two sisters, Pearl Henderson of French Camp, Mississippi, and Margaret Abraham of Ardmore, Tennessee; three grandsons, Jeff (susan) Helums, Jason (Lisa) Helums and Justin (Toni) Helums; six great-grandchildren, Meghan, Morgan, Lindsey, Jentry, Kyle, and Kaitlyn Helums; Several Nieces and Nephews; one special Niece, Jeanne Bowman; and a special Angel, Mary Burrow.
