Obituary for James Markham Biggerstaff

James Markham Biggerstaff, 81, of Thatch Road, Elkmont, Alabama, died Sunday, September 29, 2002, at his residence.Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Roberson and Bro. O.D. Morrow. Burial was in Sylone Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Biggerstaff was a member of Mount Zion Church of Christ. He was born on January 4, 1921, in Limestone County to the late Turner and Nina Street Biggerstaff. He was a farmer and worked for Wolverine Tube.Survivors include his wife, Virgoleen E. Biggerstaff of Elkmont, Alabama; three sons, David Biggerstaff of Huntsville, Alabama, Jerry and Mark Biggerstaff, both of Athens, Alabama; three daughters, Brenda Jones of Taft, Tennessee, Carolyn Barnes of Ardmore, Alabama, and Pamela Terry of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Walter "Buddy" Biggerstaff and Charles Biggerstaff, both of Athens, Alabama; three sisters, Irene Holland of Athens, Alabama, Sara Walton of Sacramento, California, and Rachel Broadway of Clinton, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
