Obituary for Helen Marie Cobb

With ease and grace, as was her way, Helen Marie League Cobb returned to our Savior on March 3, 2016 in Fayetteville, Tenn.
Her 82-year journey began on March 18, 1933 in Madison County, Ala. as the daughter of the late Nettie and Arthur League. She was the doting younger sister to the late William League and loving older sister to W. A. (Bud) League, Harold League and Joyce Mitchell as well as the late Jean Smith and Linda Benson.
She met the love of her life, the late Albert Leon Cobb, and the pair were married in 1951. As newlyweds, the couple brought daughter Karen Evans into the world, followed by son Albert (Al) Leon Cobb Jr. eight years later. At the time of her passing, her family had grown to include four granddaughters, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A professional businesswoman at heart, Miss Helen, as she came to be known, was ever present in family business endeavors with a smile and unending support.
From her mouth to the Lord's ears, Cobb was active in the choir at Cash Point Baptist Church. Singing alongside her brothers and sisters was among her favorite activities, as well as attending the Lick Skillet Music Barn in Hazel Green and Pickin' and Grinnin' in Ardmore, Ala.
Her later years were brightened by Brenda Coble, her caregiver and best friend who became like family.
Cobb's struggle with Alzheimers was made more comfortable by the loving and caring staff at Bailey Manor, punctuated by Hospice Care.
Visitation: Saturday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral: Sunday, March 6, at 1 p.m. at Cash Point Baptist Church.
