Obituary for Harold Clifton Newberry

Harold Clifton Newberry, 81, of Miller Lane, Ardmore, AL, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.Funeral services were held Thursday, August 7, at 1 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Limestone Memorial Gardens in Athens with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Blake Haynes, Anthony Haynes, Mitch Haynes, Randy Cantrell, Jason Ridgeway, Brad Christopher and Mike Perry.Harold was born May 3, 1927 in Clarkrange, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents James Erastus and Eva Addaline Hull Newberry who had eleven children, Ola, J.D., Margie, Sybil, Billy, Alma, Tom, Charles, Ronnie and Phillip. Harold lived in this area since 1969 having moved from Dayton, OH. A WWII Navy veteran, he worked for the Ardmore Telephone Company until retirement and faithfully served the Lord at Lindsey Lane Baptist and Bethlehem Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife Sue Newberry of Ardmore, AL; son, Douglas Newberry of Delrose, TN; daughters Yvonne Cantrell of Hazel Green, AL, Jodie Reyer of Taft, TN, and Nikki McNeal of Ardmore, AL; brothers, J.D. Newberry of Dayton, OH, Tom Newberry of Kettering, OH, Charles Newberry of Vandalia, OH, Phillip Newberry of Florence, AL; sisters, Marjorie Kerley of Knoxville, TN, and Sybil Drinnon of Springboro, OH; seven grandchildren, Beth Cantrell, Mary Christopher, Christina Ridgeway, Joshua Newberry, Bonnie Perry, Libby and Maggie McNeal; eight great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jayden, Ben, Harlie, Kylie, Payton, Ella and Brady.
