Obituary for Ethel Mae Cantrell Brock

Ethel Mae Cantrell Brock, 88, of Hazel Green, Alabama, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her residence. Funeral Services were held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Towry officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Timothy Brock, Elmond Lee, Joey Baker, Todd Hockberger, Phillip Davis, Billy Joe Reynolds, and Samuel Brock.Mrs. Brock was born on August 7, 1914, in Madison County, Alabama to the late John Garner Cantrell and Frances Elizabeth Stephens Cantrell. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was retired from Humana Hospital and a member of New Sharon Senior Center where she was an avid quilter. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milan Niles Brock; a daughter, Betty Knight Lee; and a grandson, Barry Wade Stafford. Survivors include three sons, Maxcell Brock and Roger Brock, both of Hazel Green, Alabama, and Larry Brock of Lisle, Illinoise; five daughters, Dorothy Jo Baker of Madison, Alabama, Ava Nell Stafford of Chesapeake, Virginia, Angelen Hochberger and Judy Davis, both of Hazel Green, and Rebecca Mercado of Iron Station, North Carolina; one sister, Lena Gowen of Fayetteville, Tennessee; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
