Dorothy Louise Barnes, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Madison, Alabama. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Brister, Rev. Paul Clutts, and Rev. William Suddarth officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Ray Powers, Billy Joe Broadway, J.C. Thomas, Weldon Thomas, Paul Spence, and Thomas Clay Wales.Mrs. Barnes was born on October 27, 1922, in Limestone County, Alabama to John Thomas Tillery and Bera Lee Dungy Tillery. She was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and lived all her life in the Ardmore area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Barnes and a son, John Wesley Barnes. Survivors include one son, Roger Dale and wife Diane Barnes of Lewisburg, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Barnes of Pulaski, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Barnes; one sister, Bertie Powers of Ardmore, Alabama; two sister-in-laws, Mary Alice Graham of Marietta, Georgia, and Helen Hunley of Waverly, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Leslie Summers and Amanda Pardon, both of Ardmore, Tennessee, Robin Johns and Holly Barnes, both of Lewisburg, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Summers, Paige Pardon, and Tylor Pardon; and several nieces and nephews.
