Daris Isaac Geddings, 85, of Norman lane, Elkmont, Alabama, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Edger officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were David Geddings, Richard Geddings, Robert Clinard, Junior Hayes, Stanley Bagsby, Warren clinard, Jeffery Prosser, and Carl Hayes.Mr. Geddings was born on August 10, 1918, in Hartwell, South Carolina, to Henry Reynolds Geddings and Mollie Mae Lewis Geddings. He was of the Baptist faith and worked in construction work. As a young man he joined a "CC" Camp and traveled to the coast. He was a devoted father and husband. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Inez Geddings, of Elkmont, Alabama; two sons, George David Geddings of Huntsville, Alabama, and Richard Edward Geddings of Elkmont, Alabama; five daughters, Peggy Mae Hayes of McMinnville, Tennessee, Juanita Inez Geddings of Elkmont, Alabama, Mary Frances Graves of eugene Oregon, Doris Ann Clinard of Elkmont, Alabama, and Linda Diane Bagsby of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Thelma Winkles of Hazel Green, Alabama; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
