Obituary for Carl Dustin Doub

Carl Dustin Doub,92, of Ardmore, Tennessee, formerly of Silver Lake, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center for Ardmore. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. at Silver Creek Church of God in Silver Lake, Indiana, with Rev. Thomas Craig officiating. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery with Delaughter-McKee Mortuary in charge. Mr. Doub was born in Fulton County, Indiana, on November 22, 1911, to Otto Daub and Lottie Drudge Doub. He was a longtime resident of the Silver Lake area. As a farmer, he was crowned the "Onion King of Indiana" for three strait years. He also worked for Kerlin Motor Company and later Kerlin Tractor Sales for sixty years, but always preferred being called a farmer. Poor health resulted in his moving to live with his son in Ardmore, Alabama in 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Hilda Hamilton Doub, and a son, Gerald Lamar Doub. Survivors include his son, Cecil Ray Doub and wife Cynthia Gayle Peacock Doub of Ardmore, Alabama, a daughter-in-law, Betty Alexander Doub of Silver Lake, Indiana, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
