Obituary for Birdie Bee Tillery Powers

Birdie Bee Tillery Powers, 86, of Homes Street, Ardmore, AL, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Athens, AL. Funeral services were Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Pack, Bro. William Suddarth and Bro. Joel Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Steve Hardiman, Sean Hardiman, Spencer Hardiman, Scott Hardiman, Chip Powers, Billy Joe Broadway, Thomas Clay Wales, and Robert Reynolds. Birdie Bee was born February 10, 1919, in Limestone County, AL, to John Thomas Tillery and Bera Dungy Tillery. She lived all her life in this area and was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald Richard Powers. Survivors include one son, Carlos (Buck) Powers of New Market, AL; two daughters, Betty Jones of Shelbyville, TN, and Faye Hardiman of Athens, AL; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
