Alice Faye Thomas, 60, of Charity Lane, Hazel Green, Alabama, died Friday, August 13, 2004, at Huntsville, Alabama. Funeral Services were held at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, August 15, 2004, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Brister officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Andy Lobberecht, Josh Lobberecht, Shane Thomas, Joey Thomas, Randy Elledge, and Tully Hester.Mrs. Thomas was born on February 7, 1944, in Woodbury, Tennessee, to Alvie Simpson and Leona Harmon Simpson. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and was devoted to her Grandchildren. She enjoyed flower gardening ans watching televison. She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-father, Elmer Maxwell, a son, Homer A. Thomas, Jr., and a granddaughter, Candice Hester.Survivors include: her husband of 43 years, Homer A. Thomas of Hazel Green, Alabama; one son, John Wayne (Lori) Thomas, of Hazel Green, Alabama; three daughters, Sherry Lynn (Andy) Lobberecht of Ardmore, Alabama, Tina Louise (Ken) LaFountain of ROgersville, Alabama, and Shirley Faye (Jim) Miller of Huntsville, Alabama; two brothers, Johnny Simpson of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Gary Simpson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three step-brothers, Jerry and Johnny Maxwell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and James Maxwell of Woodbury, Tennessee; one sister, Kathy Riley of Portland, Tennessee; a mother-in-law, Opal Thomas of Hazel Green, Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews.
