Obituary for A D Lewter, Sr.

A D Lewter, Sr., 88, of Coral street, Ardmore, Tennessee, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Sunbridge Care Center, Ardmore, Tennessee. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Witty officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama, with Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were grandsons.A D was born in Cash Point, Tennessee, on October 1, 1920, to Atha Deemer Lewter and Edna Boldin Lewter. He lived all his life in this area. He was a member of Hollands Gin Church of Christ. He loved driving a truck and was a loving, kind, and gentle man. He ws ready to go and join his wife Mary of 66 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Moran Lewter; brothers: Clyde, Doodley, and Bud Lewter; and sister: Annie Pepper. Survivors include one son: A D Lewter, Jr.; three daughters: Betty McNeill of Ardmore, Alabama, Faye Pritchard of Ardmore, Tennessee, and Dot Bragg of Decatur, Alabama; two brothers: Tommy Lewter of Ardmore, ALabama, and Jimmy Lewter of Ardmore, Tennessee; four sisters: Annette Barnes of Ardmore, Alabama, Marie Phelps of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Hazel Bowman of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mary De Mauldin of Orlando, Florida; 16 Grandchildren; 29 Great-grandchildren; and 15 Great-great-grandchildren.
